Paidika, Pieterse, Monica, Interview, 1991
I thought it was important for society to listen to paedophiles; to hear and understand why they had sexual contacts with children, what they feel about children. I hoped society and paedophiles would come closer to each other and so the happiness of children, paedophiles and parents would increase. Parents often react panicky when they know their children have had sexual contacts with an adult. And their reaction is very bad for the child. I hoped they would react in a better way, when they knew more about paedophilia. So, I wanted to make visible a large group of paedophiles and see what things they had in common. I made a questionaire and had the interviews. The interviews were useful because they gave a background to the answers in the questionaire. They put the answers in the right perspective.

Pain, Andrew, Twenty years on from the Cleveland Child Sex Abuse Scandal; Evening Gazette, July 8, 2008
TWENTY years ago the Butler-Sloss report on the Cleveland Child Sex Abuse Crisis was published. Here the Evening Gazette takes a look back at the crisis which rocked Teesside, speaks to some of those caught up in the crisis, and looks at the results of the Butler-Sloss inquiry.

Painter, Kim, The Sexual Revolution Hits Junior High, USA TODAY , 15 March 2002
Picture the mating rites of middle-schoolers. Perhaps you imagine hand-holding and first kisses, girls trying out eye shadow, boys sneaking a peek at vulgar men's magazines.
Now look again, through the eyes of increasingly concerned educators and experts:
* Researchers in Washington, D.C., recently started a program to prevent early sexual activity. They planned to offer it to seventh-graders, but after a pilot study to
target fifth-graders -- because too many seventh-graders already were having sex.

"Pariah", CounterPunch, Scapegoats and Shunning; Sexual Fascism in Progressive America,  March 4 / 5, 2006
There is a class of people in America today, numbering two million or more, who have been utterly scapegoated, ostracized, demonized and shunned. [...]
About 600,000 of them have been rounded up and forced to register -- many soon to be monitored for life with electronic bracelets and global positioning devices. Nearly 4000 have been locked up for life, not on criminal charges, but by civil commitment, and those numbers are growing by the day. The remainder are mostly in hiding, desperately afraid of sudden exposure and witch hunts by neighbors, fellow-workers and friends, whom they fear will suddenly see them as monsters beyond redemption.

Parris, Matthew, Child abuse, or a crime in the eye of the beholder?, London Times 20 January 2003
Contrary to the spirit of the age, I think we should have a graduated response to those troubled by a sexual interest in children. [..]
I am unsettled by the application of the 1978 Protection of Children Act to computer images. [..]
The practice is a denial of the human rights of those thus attacked, and seriously corrupt. [..]
I am uncomfortable that it should be an offence to look at something. [..]

Palmer, Alasdair, Silenced Wittness, news.telegraph (UK), 24/03/2002
THE disturbing case of Bill Thompson, a criminologist specialising in child abuse, and a police search for pornography. Why was his home raided when he has legal protection?

Pattaya Daily News, Contradictory stances on under-age sex and sexual exploitation;  December 16, 2006
There has been yet another incident reported of under age prostitution reported in Pattaya, resulting in Western Human Rights Agencies such as the International Justice Mission crying exploitation, yet this whole controversy contains certain ambiguities. [...] If one considers the ethos of agencies such as the IJM, one can detect an element of hypocrisy underlying their professed aims. [...] Presumably the IJM are not familiar with the psychological
phenomenon of projection!

Pelo, Dr A., Liebe geht durch die Haut, Ein Essay, Rotterdam.  Ausschnitt S. 197-202 aus: Dr. Frits Bernard (Hrsg): Pädophilie ohne Grenzen - Theorie, Forschung, Praxis. Foerster Verlag, Frankfurt am Main 1997

Percy, William A., In memoriam: Vern Bullough - Quotes from: Vern Bullough, our greatest Sexologist, dies at 77; The Gay & Lesbian Review Worldwide, 1 November 2006
The GLBT community has lost its most effective advocate from outside the gay world. Sexologist, activist, nurse, and historian, Vern Bullough died from cancer on June 21st at 77.
Facts are facts, and science is science, and no amount of wishing them away, no amount of
pressure or calumny, ever deflected Vern from his mission -- to learn the truth and communicate it to others.

The Guardian 17 August 2003 &  in Religion | Permalink; 28 November 2008
The Vatican instructed [in 2003] Catholic bishops around the world to cover up cases of sexual abuse or risk being thrown out of the Church.

Philips, Jim, Modern-Day Scarlet Letter; Leave the perverts alone; Jim Philips,  WESH.com, June 15, 2006
It's becoming the cause of the week, whether it's catching sexual predators on "Dateline" or putting up signs in the neighborhood to identify your local flasher. I'm starting to wonder what all the fascination is about? [...]
How about watching your children more closely? Keep your eyes open and leave the neon "PERVERT" signs at home.

Pidd, Helen, Jersey abuse investigation; Police rule out any murder at care home, The Guardian 08-11-13
Jersey's most senior police officer was suspended yesterday as detectives concluded that no children had been murdered in the former care home at the centre of a £4.5m investigation into child abuse.

PJS, Woman Who Had Baby With 14-Year-Old Boy Gets Probation; wtol.com, 12 October 2006
Dawn Fisher, the 33-year-old Swanton woman who gave birth to a 14-year-old boy's baby, was sentenced Tuesday to five years in community control -- with no jail time.
Even Judge James Bates admitted there's a double standard when men and women commit the same crime.

Powell, Adam-John, Michael Jackson (1958-2009)
The obituaries claimed Michael Jackson to have been a genius yet a complex and misunderstood character. I think they got it wrong. Jackson was neither a genius, complex or misunderstood. He attracted hostility but that is not the same as being misunderstood.

Primoratz, Igor, Sexual Perversion, American Philosophical Quarterly, 04/1997
In both everyday and more theoretical contexts, the use of the term "sexual perversion" is plagued by considerable inconsistency and confusion.
This paper explores whether this term has a reasonably clear meaning and can be put to use to some useful purpose. I take a critical look at a number of attempts by philosophers to capture its proper meaning and delineate its correct application, and argue that none have succeeded. In view of that, I suggest that we simply drop it once and for all, and get on with saying whatever needs to be said about human sexuality without first trying to have its varieties classified as either "natural," or "unnatural" or "perverted."

Principles of Non-Violent Warfare - Author & source unknown
Non-violence begins with a non-violent attitude toward those who oppress us.
Every successful revolution begins with a consciousness raising of the oppressed group.
Demonization is always the rational by which dominant oppressive groups justify their violence against the oppressed. Demonization itself must be challenged.
Members of the oppressed group who are able to network together should support each other in avoiding panic; they must try to assess situations as coolly as possible, and find ways to be as safe as possible, without giving up the struggle.

PSVG Booklet, 1981: Pedophilia, Protestantse Stichting voor Verantwoorde Gezinsvorming
(Protestant Foundation for Responsible Family Development), The Netherlands.
This booklet is intended for everyone who wants to know more about pedophilia, but especially for those who actually deal with it. That includes primarily pedophiles themselves and the children with whom they are involved. Then there are the parents of the children, and the families of pedophiles. Because of present day penal laws, policemen, judges and public prosecutors are also confronted with this phenomenon. Social workers, too, are involved.
Quite properly, this booklet is also intended for children, but children who read this booklet will very quickly see that it is especially written for grown-ups. This is because 'pedophilia' isn't just a grown-up's word, but, in many cases, is a grown-up's problem.

Punkerslut,

Why Pedophilia Isn't Bad; 2001
In this short essay, I argue for why I believe Pedophilia is not necessarily an automatic evil, or moral wrong. I posted it at a relatively small Bulletin Board, and to my surprise, almost everyone welcomed it as intelligent material, devoid of stereotypical perversions.

Modern Sexual Taboos and Their Morality; 2002
The topic of this essay is modern sexual taboos and their morality. In the following pages, I will discuss the ethics and the reason concerning many things today which are detested by some: masturbation, homosexuality, prostitution, and other sexual taboos which are detested by many: Pedophilia, Zoophilia, Incest, and Free Love.

A shorter version is in Ipce's Newsletter E 18.

The Inaccurate View of Science; 2003
If I have one purpose in life, it is to enlighten those around me. All too often, if one has a social and political awareness, we are going to hear such statements as, "Science has proved this," or "Science has proved that," and it will be implied in a way that it is absolute. So often have I heard this statement, that I feel it is necessary to write upon it.

The intimacy of children, 2004
Understand, my dear reader, that I know exactly what you are thinking when I step up to question the idea that pedophilia is bad. I know what light society has thrown on it.
[...] I am gently offering a new idea. These are words on a page, my own opinion, which I have a right to. In this piece, I do not mean to offend, to insult, or otherwise to use words as a sword. My only enemy is ignorance.

A Vision of a New Morality 2003
By this new morality, this idea that it is no crime to rub your face in the neck of your love, to let your fingers speak for your soul... By this new morality, I propose that there should never again be a girl full of tears, because she is lonely but feels sex is immoral. I propose that there should never again be a man frustrated with sex, because his hormones are building up but he feels sex is a crime. I propose that men and women everywhere should throw off the chains of an antiquated morality, of a slavery that kept their heart in bondage.

Dialogue on Sex 2005
A heterosexual man and another heterosexual man. One of them starts reading a book to the other one.
Man one: "What the hell are you doing?"
Man two: "I'm reading a book to you."
Man one: "That's retarded.... I don't want to be read to at all."
Man two: "Well, I mean, I was picking up your signals."

Beauty as a Sexual Object 2005
To fall in love -- considered by some as the ultimate quest in life, and prepared by others with a constant and unending flow of fantasies, dreams, and enchanting ideas. And what we find sometimes to be so uniquely freakish of a fetish of our own, so personally vaulted and denied at every conscious inquiry -- we find, in fact, that it is a secrecy of our own sexuality and our own fantasies, that disallows us from discovering that, what we find to be deviant is actually commonplace in the minds of all individuals.

Homosexuality, 2005
It is the belief of Dr. Laura, that it is a biological error, not to engage in activities which produce children. If we are to accept this morbid description, of a possible meaning of life, and if we accept it to be true, that procreation is the only purpose, then we must also accept that a bond of love holds no purpose than this. When we see a lover touch the face of the person of their desires, seeing the gentle fingers caress the soft skin, we must turn away from what our heart tells us, we must believe that our eyes are lying to us, and we must reason, that since affection and kindness produce no children, they are "some kind of biological error."

Prostitution, 2005
There is no doubt that prostitution should be legalized. For some time, casual sex without commitment was a matter of law. It was illegal. But today, we are smart enough to understand and believe that what two consenting people do behind closed doors is their business and their business only.
