Journalist
and indpendent scholar Judith Levlne is the author of My Enemy, My
Love: Women, Men, and the Dilemmas of Gender. Her articles on sex, gender,
politics, and psychology have appeared in .many national periodicals, including Harper's,
the Village Voice, Vogue, My Generation, and the online magazines
salon.com and nerve.com. She is an active civil libertarian and a founder of the
National Writers Union and the feminist guerrilla theater group No More Nice
Girls.
Dr.
Joycelyn M. Elders is professor emerita of pediatric endocrinology at the
University of Arkansas School of Medical Science. She has written many articles
for medical research publications based on her studies of growth in children and
the treatment of hormone-related illnesses. She served as Surgeon General of the
U.S. Public Health Service from 1993 to 1995.
